“Live Free or Diet” offers you a pathway to true freedom – freedom to live life and live it more abundantly. Prepare to grow in wisdom, in better health, and in spirit. Be well.
Dr. Powell is a reformed board-certified family physician with over twentythree years of clinical medicine experience and the founder of Direct Primary Care Clinics LLC in Osage Beach and Lebanon, Missouri. She is a past president of the Association of American Physicians and Surgeons and sits on the Missouri State Medical Association Council. In Live Free or Diet, Dr Bravata acknowledges the failings of Western Medicine to address the spiritual self in relation to health and seeks to present a new paradigm to healing in which the Mind-Body-Soul connection is thoroughly addressed and the source of all life and healing is acknowledged thru the reflection of our creator. On this journey of enlightenment, the reader will wrestle with their own cognitive distortions which reinforce unhealthy lifestyles and ultimately dissatisfaction in life perpetuated in part by a healthcare industry that has for decades sought profit over wellness. This insightful and stimulating read can give the reader both the courage and the direction to step outside of their current and often counter-productive routines and establish for themselves a faith centered lifestyle that promotes healing, health, and happiness.
From cover to cover Dr. Kurt Bravata challenges the reader to grow spiritually, emotionally, mentally and physically. He does a beautiful job encompassing our entire being with the need to know our purpose and our bodies. He helps us identify healthy foods and habits that will fuel our bodies with our final destination in mind, Heaven. His use of Scripture to point us to true health is uniquely special. What an incredible resource and reminder this is for anyone looking to take back their health. Dr. Bravata is a hard working truth seeker with a heart to help those around him. We are grateful for his friendship and are proud that he put all of his research and wisdom in writing!
Diet is a four-letter word that has scared and confused people for centuries, but readers don't have to fret with Dr. Bravata's approach to what it means to live well. This nonfiction work is a compilation of Bravata's essays, philosophical thoughts, and poems to help not only the reader get a healthier mind and body but also a healthier spirit. It's a transformative journey to take back its readers' lives. The author offers an interesting take on our current health care system, highlighting how diet and self-help books often focus on the don'ts and aren't exactly uplifting. In contrast, Bravata's approach is a self-directed guide, where he provides practical and useful tools to help the reader make the best choices for their lives. This guide is based on Christian ideals because, as Bravata explains early on, it's his faith that he found to be a "tried and true source of strength and stability" in his life. Some of the topics discussed include the human population's identity crisis and how the digital world is one of the bigger factors, how people can take back control of their minds by limiting who and what they spend their time listening to, knowing the foods and substances that are harmful, an explanation of different kinds of vaccines, medicines, etc., and exposing hidden hazards in these medicines and food. The author is correct when he states that this is a lot more than either a self-help or a diet book. Bravata's writing style is clear, concise, and overall engaging. Those seeking a Christian spiritual book to inspire and guide them in finding a new purpose will undoubtedly find the author's work to be beneficial.
